At Anup House, our family has been looking after guests since 2018. We keep things simple: clean, comfortable rooms, a warm welcome, and a helpful local base close to Bodhgaya’s most important places.
Whether you are visiting for pilgrimage, teaching, an event, or quiet time, we are happy to welcome you.
A family welcome
A family home, as well as a guest house.
Anup House is run by Shashi and his family. His mother and sisters live here too, so there is usually someone nearby if guests need help when they arrive, local directions or advice about everyday life in Bodh Gaya.
For guests travelling alone, knowing the family is close by can be reassuring. Staying here also directly supports an independent local family business.

Pilgrimage & teachings
Close to the Bodhi Tree and Mahabodhi Temple.
Bodhgaya is one of the world’s great places of Buddhist pilgrimage. The nearby Mahabodhi Temple Complex, home to the sacred Bodhi Tree, is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Anup House is a practical, family-run base for guests visiting the temple, joining the annual Monlam prayer gathering, or attending teaching and prayer programmes when they take place in Bodhgaya.
